ROUTE

The UTH50 – Endurance starts with a flat section into the idyllic Käsental valley. After 3 kilometres, you leave the valley and climb to the Heersberg (964 m), the highest point of the first loop. Passing the Muliweg memorial stone, a panoramic meadow trail takes you directly along the spectacular edge of the escarpment to the Schalksburg and then down into the Wannental valley.

A short, root-covered trail then takes you across the notorious “Gelenkbrecher” to the Böllat viewpoint. Shortly afterwards, you reach the first aid station, “VP Burgfelden” (1st cut-off). After a brief breather, you charge down the fast descent to Zillhausen. At kilometre 17, the first major wall stands in your way: the steep climb to the Schalksburg ruins, followed by a superb trail loop across the plateau and the descent to “VP Steinberg” (2nd cut-off).

Shortly afterwards, the UTH50 leaves the UTH25 route and descends to Laufen. After crossing the village, you switch to the other side of the valley towards the Tieringer Hörnle. The longest climb of the route awaits you here: step by step, you battle your way up the sustained but runnable ascent to the edge of the escarpment and “VP Tieringen”. From the Gräblesberg, you practically fly across the Hossinger Leiter before the abrupt descent into the Brunnental valley. On the “Cube Rocks” mountain bike trail, you continue at full speed down into the valley to the well-earned “VP Brunnental”.

The return route takes you through Laufen and back uphill on a punishing counter-climb until you rejoin the UTH25 route. The technical Felsenmeer awaits in the finale, demanding your full concentration. You then fly down the legendary Muliweg towards Margrethausen. On the final singletrack, you can already hear the spectators: now it is time to dig deep, sprint through the village – and charge into the roaring UTH Area!
