Race distances
From the long-distance trail challenge and technical trails to the fast sprint, UP THE HILL has exactly the running adventure for you! Our routes take you through the unspoilt natural landscape of the Swabian Jura and offer the perfect blend of sporting challenge and scenic enjoyment.
The demanding UTH50 and UTH25 distances are true, rugged trail races featuring steep climbs, fast descents and flowing forest trails directly along the Albtrauf escarpment. Things get even faster on the UTH10 and UTH5 routes: these fast gravel loops follow well-maintained forest tracks and paved paths and are ideal for anyone looking to pick up the pace.
Whatever distance fires you up – or whether you are cheering on the youngest runners in the Kids Run – everyone is guaranteed the genuine, high-energy UP THE HILL experience!

50.0 km / 2,100 m elevation gain
With the UTH50 – Endurance, we are adding a monumental challenge to UP THE HILL from 2027. A full 50 kilometres and around 2,100 metres of elevation gain are waiting to be conquered. This route is not for the faint-hearted: it combines the steepest, toughest climbs in our region with endless, flowing singletrack directly along the spectacular edge of the Albtrauf escarpment.

25.9 km / 1,270 m elevation gain
The UTH25 – Trail Run is the true heart of our event: a tough 25.9 kilometres and a challenging 1,270 metres of elevation gain test you every step of the way. From the moment you start, you head straight into the unspoilt natural landscape of the Swabian Jura. Steep, gruelling climbs, technical and fast descents, and flowing singletrack through the wild Käsental valley, over the distinctive Heersberg and past the spectacular Felsenmeer demand everything you have – while rewarding you with breathtaking views along the Albtrauf escarpment.

10.8 km / 310 m elevation gain
The UTH10 – Gravel is the perfect route for anyone looking to pick up the pace: a punchy 10.8 kilometres and 310 metres of elevation gain take you along well-maintained forest tracks and paved paths through the beautiful landscape of the Swabian Jura. But do not be fooled – this loop is far hillier and faster than it looks on paper! The notorious Burgfelder Steige in particular demands everything your legs have to give before a rapid, high-speed descent takes you back towards the finish.

4.7 km / 120 m elevation gain
The UTH5 – Sprint captures the pure event experience: over a compact 4.7 kilometres with 120 metres of elevation gain, you race through the beautiful Käsental valley. The route offers a punchy but fair mix of gentle climbing and a short, rapid descent before you hit the finishing straight. Your run culminates in an electrifying finish right in the heart of our buzzing UTH Area in Margrethausen.

500 m – 1,500 m
The UTH Kids Run is especially close to our hearts. This is where the stars of tomorrow take centre stage: on age-appropriate routes ranging from 500 to 1,500 metres, our youngest runners experience their very own unforgettable UP THE HILL adventure. With a real start line, professional timing and the roaring applause of spectators in the packed UTH Area, the kids race towards the finish. At the finish line, not only a well-earned finisher medal awaits them, but also the pure joy of having done it.
