Race
With UP THE HILL, we are bringing trail running straight to the heart of the Swabian Jura. What began as an idea by runners for runners has long since become an established fixture on the German trail running calendar, proving that genuine trail adventures are not only found in the Alps. Challenging climbs, flowing trails and spectacular views along the Albtrauf escarpment are what make this event so special.
Official member of ITRA & the UTMB® World Series
UP THE HILL is a proud member of the International Trail Running Association (ITRA) and part of the ITRA National League Germany. At the same time, both the UTH25 – Trail Run and the UTH50 – Endurance are official UTMB Index Races:
- UTH25: Classified in the UTMB 20K category
- UTH50: Classified in the UTMB 50K category
Participants can earn their official UTMB Index here – the essential performance benchmark and a requirement for entering the legendary UTMB® World Series Finals in Chamonix (such as UTMB, CCC or OCC).

Fast formats on gravel & asphalt
Away from the technical trails, UP THE HILL also offers strong, performance-focused formats:
- UTH10 – Gravel: Fast, direct and undulating. The perfect route for leading regional athletes, ambitious recreational runners and corporate teams looking to take on the challenge together.
- UTH5 – Sprint: The compact, dynamic format for newcomers, younger runners and short-distance specialists who want to experience the UTH atmosphere at full speed.
Our highlight for the youngest runners
Our programme for young runners is especially important to us: in the Kids Run, even the youngest runners take to the start line to gain their first trail running experience on age-appropriate routes and experience the sport first-hand.

CHANGING ROOMS/ SHOWERS
Due to the local conditions, space in our UTH Area itself is limited. To ensure that no one has to queue in the cold after the race, we have created a convenient solution with plenty of space and short waiting times:
- For men: Directly beneath the catered festival hall in the UTH Area, separate changing rooms (M/F) and a large shower room exclusively for men are available.
- For women: To save you long waiting times, we have reserved a dedicated, comfortable shower and changing area for women at the sports hall in Lautlingen.
- Free shuttle service: After the race, our UTH shuttle runs every 10 minutes, taking you directly from the finish area to the showers in Lautlingen and, of course, back again!
